Spent a few hours on Market St in SF

spent yesterday at the beach…. with the family…. I really needed to get away….. and this was it…. played with the girls and ran down to the ocean and let the waves come in….. Well one GD would run away when the waves came in….. but the other ran to the wave…….  that be Lily…..

Friday was a long day….ended up with a visit to the hot tube……

One of the things that I love about being in San Francisco……..is the walking around the streets…. so much to discover….

Do you ever wonder… where does time go… A few mornings ago as I was walking down Market St in the City…  I looked up and what I seen was an ad… and when I looked at it a memory came to my mind first….and then to my heart… so you say what makes this magic… well a few years this play  was playing in San Francisco… for the first time…and I was at a point in my life where I was struggling a bit… with life, extra money and all the things that go with that… my phone rang, and when I answered there was a voice on the line, a little voice saying…. Hi Dad, it’s me…James… my school has an outing to go see a play…and I want to know if you will go with me… since this was the first time my son invited me to do something that was very different… a play, “The Phantom Of The Opera”…not a movie or miniature golf…the last being one of our favorites…I said I would love to go… he said to me you have to buy 2 tickets…I said no problem… I mean how much can a ticket be…. he said to me we don’t need the good seats just the mid priced ones…. they are only 75. dollars…that was a week that I did not have much cash….but I said sure… the good news was I got the money…and went on a bus ride to see the play…It was fabulous….Time goes by and a few years later when James graduated from college I asked him what would he like to do… He said I would like to go to Las Vegas… so we pack a bag and off we went…. I know he wanted to do a little card playing and hangin’ out…. and of course we are in Vegas baby… the shows…. we went to the Beatles show “Love” we also saw the Blue Men Show……and last of all the Phantom of the Opera…. It just opened in Vegas…….this time I got great sits….and again it was a fabulous show….. and yes that’s what went though my mind and ended up in my heart when I saw the poster……

My friend the fiddle player at Bart had gone missing….. since Monday I have not seen him…..My thinking was that maybe he had taken his show on the road….. after a few days I sort of worried and missed the sound of his fiddle in the morning… Well today as I rode the escalator up from the trains I could hear a familiar sound…. the sound of a fiddle playing the song Greensleeves an old English folk song from around the 16th century… but for me it was good to hear the music again….

Do you ever wonder where you where on a particular day….. sometimes something happens and you suddenly know exactly where you were….and for me photography is just a world of memories……… some good, some bad…….. there is a word that sometimes describe how one feels about things…..how I feel about things…… the word is “SAUDADE”…..take the time to look it up…… and by the way I know right where I was at sundown 2 years ago today……  “SAUDADE”  I have never found a better word then this to say how I feel today…..  so you say what’s the story…. well been out shooting and was heading back….  I looked up and this what I saw…. after shooting I only had one photo left on my card…. and the wrong lens on the camera… but I knew that if I did not just take the shot it would be gone…. so with a 18/35 mm lens I took the shot…..not bad as a memory of that day…… no did not know the folks on the hill….but they did come down and I show them the photo and said if you like it I can send it to you….. a few weeks later they sent me an email…….and I sent them the photo……they loved it…. yep not a bad day 2 years ago today…. my life was just about perfect…..
