The other day I went to coffee with a friend and he took me to a new place it’s called Vive la tart it’s on Howard St.  I must say it’s a bit unusual with the way it’s set up.  As I was sitting and looking around I noticed an old stereo up against the wall.  It was an old looking amp but as I looked more carefully I could not believe my eyes….. It was an fisher model KX-200….So you ask what’s so special about that???  Well it was nearing Christmas 1964….  and I wanted a real stereo amp.  So I begged my father to get me one… and at Christmas morning I opened up a box….. and there was a fisher tube amp 100 watts per channel…..then I open it up…and suddenly realized that it was a box full of parts….wires, resistors, knobs, and all kinds of stuff…. My father looked at me and said you have to put together yourself…. OMG how can I do this….. well it took the better part of 1965 to finish it…but I did and it was the most beautiful sound I have ever heard….. it made my Beatles 65 record sound sooooooo good. I had the amp around my father house for many years and it always made great sound…..  It was lost after I went into the Marines…..it just disappeared….and for the most part I never really seen one again….well not until yesterday…… and suddenly all those memories came crashing back……all those year ago…..and for a short time as I set there listening….. it was 1965 all over again…..and I could hear No Reply, Baby’s in Black…..and of course “I’ll Follow The Sun” and I’m a Loser……
