Only a few will understand the reason I took this photo…..

There are so many things…. In life that you do…. Saying to yourself I will remember this… For me today was one of them…. Most of you know that for the last two years I have had the opportunity to shoot photos of Davey Pattison….. Davey is a remarkable voice behind the bands Gamma, Robin Trower, & Ronnie Montrose…. I was at the Oakland Coliseum way back when I believe it was Day on the Green there were many great bands there… Davey was there with Ronnie Montrose……. and a whole bunch of other bands… I believe that would’ve been in August 1981….. I don’t remember many of the bands that were there I think  38 special… And others…. Gamma was a huge band in the Bay Area with many hits the most popular being Voyager…… well today I had the chance to sit down and visit with Davey at his home he told stories that were so fantastic….. How we met Bill Graham… How the music business is changed… Especially after Bill Graham’s death…. I have this one photo from today Davey sitting in his chair and behind him is a wall of photos… And he took the time to explain many of them to me places he grew up… Where his grandparents met standing on a corner… A photo of where he played his very first gig….. It was so very cool to sit there and listen…. Davey has formed a new band…. Gamma + and soon will be more local shows around the Bay Area…. I of course will tell everyone when Davey is playing…. All I can say is you you have the opportunity don’t miss the davey show….. Oh and I got this click with Davey at home on the couch… this man can’t take a photo without looking cool…… so where is my story ….After leaving the show “Day on the Green….. Well  who would’ve thought that I would be sitting in the front room talking to Davey Pattison…….. life is good

Last week I took a short trip….. Actually it was up in a long trip I drove north stopped and visited friends in Portland and went on to Seattle to take some photos of friends…. Had a couple extra days so I went to Canada…… on the way back I passed this sign…. I have passed this sign many times… And I always wanted to stop and take a photo… well going north I missed it again….. But the way home I decided I was going to stop…. And here’s a photo… I was wondering what the person who wrote it was thinking… Because it’s really a powerful word… Someplace many years ago I was told that if he didn’t understand your history…. That you would be doomed to repeat it…. It’s just me thinking out loud…..

Sometimes it seems as if the folks around you are in such a hurry…. from the guy who races around you just to get to the next red light… sometimes they walk so fast…. just missing whats around them…. they often say…. Oh I’m to busy to go for a walk… all I can say is… better take a little time… and don’t walk to fast…. stop and look around…. you might be surprised what you will see….. trust me you will always have the time to go the work…. clean the house…. that’s why I love photography so much…  it will let you find that little bit of time…. and you will always have a little memory of that day…… to share……  Here is my walk from yesterday….. It was an amazing day…. thanks to 2 friends who took me and shared this…

Sometimes when you sit at home….. Whether you’re sad or bored… For me sometimes it’s better just to go someplace and late at night treasure Island sometimes can be a cool getaway…. find a place to sit…and just watch the cars go by….. I sometimes wonder……. where are they all going…..here is a click…..

It wasn’t too long ago… That my friend Ed gave me an incredible gift… I had done some work for him and as a reward you let me stay at his house in Mexico…. It was a beautiful house….. And the house was on the beach which gave me access to endless amounts of beach to walk on… One day when I was walking I came upon this girl she was standing on the beach fortunately I had a Camera….. It was my Sony RX 100… It’s pocket camera……. and there she was….. standing I quickly reached into my pocket was able to get my camera out and get this click…… I call the picture…. I know you seen this one coming……… This may not be a great print but it is a magical shot…..
